My Journey as a Structural Engineer

Taylor Durtschi, MEng, EIT, founded The Bridge Tutors in 2019 to combine my passion for engineering with my love of teaching. My interest in education began during my volunteer missionary service in Sydney, Australia, where I had the opportunity to teach and serve a diverse community.
After returning home, I pursued my education at Utah State University, earning both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis. While in school, I worked as a tutor for the College of Engineering, spending three years at the Tutoring Center and discovering a lasting passion for helping students succeed.
I have 4+ years of experience as a structural engineer and 9+ years of tutoring experience. After working professionally in the engineering field, I realized I missed connecting with students and supporting their academic growth. In response, I launched my tutoring business to bridge both worlds—offering expert, personalized support in math, engineering, and FE exam prep.My passion is helping students build confidence and master challenging concepts—whether it’s for class, exams, or their future careers.
I’ve created a range of videos and written examples that clearly explain key topics in engineering and math. Visit our Videos & Examples page to start learning. Don’t forget to subscribe to our YouTube channel. Also, check out our Shorts for bite-sized, on-the-go lessons!
