My honest take — the good, the not-so-good, and what I’d change
👍 What I Loved
- Slow-burn chemistry between Wang Kai and Tan Song Yun that simmers beautifully
- A feisty, hardworking female-pilot lead breaking a real glass ceiling — she drives the romance
- High production values; the flight CGI and gorgeous time-of-day transitions impress
- A refreshingly shy, flustered, inexperienced male lead once the ice thaws
👎 What Didn’t Land
- Episodes 24-36 collapse into melodrama, turning the rational ML into a noble idiot
- A baffling, plot-hole-ridden mid-air medical subplot ignores real aviation rules
- The FL’s controlling, PTSD-stricken mother is another ‘terrible mom’ trope (à la Go Ahead)
- Confession-itis: the will-he-won’t-he stalling drags exhaustingly to episode 37
✏️ What I’d Change
Cut the melodramatic mid-section — keep the workplace-and-slow-burn momentum of the first half instead of manufacturing angst that betrays the ML’s character.
