My honest take — the good, the not-so-good, and what I’d change
👍 What I Loved
- Genuine chemistry between the leads.
- Lin Xi’s landlord grandma — wise, kind, hilarious; every scene she showed up in was a highlight.
👎 What Didn’t Land
- Xiao Yicheng building a whole business designed to destroy his girlfriend’s career felt unhinged — it should’ve been built on working together, not against each other.
- The last ~5 episodes felt very slow.
✏️ What I’d Change
The premise for why he went overseas and she stayed doesn’t hold up — as an interpreter she’d jump at going abroad. Flip the roles: have her want to go and give him a reason he had to stay. Makes far more sense.
